#25 DisruptHR YVR: A Recap

Over 400 attendees from remarkable organizations across Vancouver.
9 speakers who took the stage and sparked disruptive conversations.
A team of volunteers who helped run a smooth and energized event.
The venue of our dreams with the most helpful team support.
And an unforgettable night of bringing a community together.

Last week’s #disrupthryvr was one for the books. It wouldn’t have been possible without all of the hearts that took part in creating a great show.

To our speakers:

5 minutes, 15 seconds per slide, and it’s all timed. It’s not easy and we applaud each of our speakers for making it look seamless! Your courage to share your disruptive experiences is what this event is rooted in and we thank you for it. And what a lineup it was! Our show opener Urszula Lipsztajn, our own Sim Tatla, Laurie Bennett Co-Founder of Within People, Bonnie Cheng a student from UBC, Eric Termuende Co-Founder of NoW Innovations, Jessie Nelson Co-Founder of KITH+Common, Chris Howe foodora’s Courier Growth Manager, MEC’s Chief People Experience Officer Nahal Yousefian, and our Disrupt alumni, Laura Appleton the Senior People and Culture Manager at Arc’teryx.

To our sponsors, partners, and volunteers:

Thank you to Roper Greyell and Thoughtexchange for helping making this event happen.

And to Kit and Ace, TurF, Mealshare, Olin Brix, and Mobi – thank you for showing up and for the support!

(PS. You can receive a 50% discount on your Mobi enrolment by entering promo code “DisruptHR” when signing up! Any questions, contact Brad Dodimead.)

The event goes on because of our awesome team of volunteers and we couldn’t have put this event together without the community it takes to bring people together. So, thank you.

To everyone who attended and those you wanted to:

THANK YOU. You showed up (or wanted to) and are a true testament to the community of people leaders we have in this city.

We can’t wait for the next show, and if you can’t either, hop onto the mailing list to get first dibs on the info and ticket sales.

Always grateful,
Team Corker
